Nicholas Rothwell House

The Feoffees of St. Giles Charity Estates are committed to providing a high standard of care for the Service Users of Nicholas Rothwell House supported by the Community Health Services. This will be delivered by appropriately trained staff in a safe environment, which provides a family atmosphere for the long stay Service Users and is welcoming to short term Service Users.

We will ensure that :-
• Care is provided for Frail Elderly people and those with Physical Disability.
• All potential Service users are assessed prior to admission to be sure we can meet their needs
• All care is provided according to the Service Users personal assessment needs, is regularly reviewed and recorded in a current Care Plan.
• Service Users privacy and dignity is respected and confidentiality is preserved.
• An atmosphere is maintained whereby Service users and their Relatives can make comments and raise concerns with will be investigated and recorded.
• A programme of social activities exists which is developed in conjunction with the Service Users.
• Arrangements exist to enable good communication with relatives by operating an 'Open Door' policy.
• Mechanisms are in place to engage Service Users, their relatives and the staff in the operation of, and any proposed changes in the Home.
• Care Staff undergo regular appraisal from which personal development plans are produced and training needs identified.
• A training programme is in place to achieve 50% of Care staff being trained to NVQ level 2 by 2005
